EVC Prayer Requests, April 2024

Mon 1st

Give thanks that construction work on the new Nursery at St Matia Mulumba has begun and is going well.

Tues 2nd

Making sure all children come back to school at the beginning of a new term is always a priority for the EVC staff in Uganda. Give thanks that most children reported back to school for the new school year.

Wed 3rd

Give thanks for the teachers in both primary schools, for their dedication to the children and to enabling them to fulfil their potential.

Thurs 4th

Pray that all staff, priests,, staff, parents and pupils in Uganda will work together well for the good of EVC.

Fri 5th

Managing the two primary schools is a big job for the headteachers and the school committees. Give thanks for their work and pray for guidance during this new school year.

Sat 6th

Today Ted and Judi are travelling to Rayleigh to give an appeal for EVC. Pray for safety as they travel and for Judi as she speaks.

Sun 7th

Pray that people will give generously to the work of EVC and that more new sponsors for children will be found.

Mon 8th

Pray for the staff of St Matia Mulumba school to have good ideas about how they can fundraise for the school.

Tues 9th

Pray for a group of volunteers to be found who will work with the school in this endeavour.

Wed 10th

The children’s Easter letters arrived in good time for Easter. Give thanks for this and, for all the work staff member Janet undertook, to gather everything together.

Thurs 11th

Give thanks for Eve and David, volunteering with EVC Uganda and, pray that other able volunteers will be found.

Fri 12th

The new girls’ toilet block at St Matia Mulumba is now completed. Thank God for the good work of the building company and for Prossy’s supervision of this project.

Sat 13th

Today Phil and Gordon are travelling to Ashby de la Zouche to give a church appeal. Pray for Phil as she speaks and for safety in travel.

Sun 14th

Continue to pray that God will bring more people to support EVC’s work..

Mon 15th

The cost of school fees and vocational study courses is continuing to rise. Pray that we will see God’s provision for these extra costs.

Tues 16th

Pray that the EVC Board and the staff in Uganda, will be guided by God, in developing the work.

Wed 17th

Registration for Uganda National Examination Board exams has to take place by the end of this month. Pray that, as parents are responsible for providing these fees, they will find ways of raising the funds needed.

Thus 18th

Pray for an enthusiasm for learning among our children and that during this term they will understand what they are taught and revise well for the end of term examinations.

Fri 19th

Give thanks for the support given to Gonzaga by Father Boniface and Father Michael and, pray for God’s guidance for them all, as they plan for and monitor the work in Uganda.

Sat 20th

Today Judi is speaking in Rochford. Pray that God will motivate people to give to the work of EVC and, that there will be people willing to sponsor children in education.

Sun 21st

Ill health is often a problem for the parents and children helped through EVC Uganda. Pray that God’s healing hand will be on them this year and that those who are ill at present, may soon be able to return to their jobs and be able to provide for the needs of their children.

Mon 22nd

Pray for Ted who has a big ‘in tray’ at present, that he will use his time well and be able to prioritise what needs to be done and accomplish the necessary tasks.

Tues 23rd

There is a need to find new income streams. Pray that the Board of Trustees will have God given ideas of how to do this.

Wed 24th

Give thanks for Gordon’s work on projects and, pray for him as he works with Prossy, in overseeing the building of the new Nursery.

Thus 25th

Pray for all support staff in the schools, the matrons, cooks, security people, that they will fulfil their work tasks with enthusiasm and dedication.

Fri 26th

Some students completed education recently. Pray that each one will find a job relevant to the skills they have learned.

Sat 27th

This weekend Judi is speaking in Dagenham. Pray for a safe journey and for hearts to respond to the needs of the children in Uganda.

Sun 28th

A Finance Officer to assist Gonzaga with administering the children’s accounts needs to be appointed. Pray that the right person for this job will be found.

Mon 29th

Give thanks for the contributions made to the work of EVC Uganda by Neil and Andy, stepping down from the EVC Board this month.

Tues 30th

Give thanks for Chris Rooke joining the Board of Trustees as the new Treasurer and pray for him as he settles into this new role.
