January 2025

‘Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendour is above the earth and the heavens’. Psalm 148 : 13

Wednesday 1st

Pray for the EVC staff in Uganda as they take some time off from work. Pray for rest and refreshment and a good time with family and friends.

Thursday 2nd

Continue to pray for Ted as he seeks to gain openings for church appeals during 2025, that God will open doors for these to take place.

Friday 3rd

The children are at home for the long school holidays. Pray for safety for each one and that they will be a support and help to their parents and guardians during this time.

Saturday 4th

Exam results for those who sat Primary 7, Senior 4 and Senior 6 public exams are due at the end of this month or in early February. Pray for success for each one.

Sunday 5th

These exam results make for a very busy time for Gonzaga as she seeks to place the children in the right school for them, for this next step in their education. Pray for wisdom in decision making for her.

Monday 6th

Give thanks that the new Nursery school building at St Matia Mulumba will be ready for the beginning of the new school year.

Tuesday 7th

Pray for Eve as she seeks to raise the funds needed at St Matia Mulumba for their coffee initiative, growing coffee which they can eventually sell for income.

Wednesday 8th

A good number of the EVC children completed studies at the end of 2024. Pray that they will be successful in obtaining jobs.

Thursday 9th

Pray for Ted, Gordon and Chris as they work on developing new streams of income for the charity.

Friday 10th

Pray for our staff in Uganda as they seek to help parents and guardians understand the importance of education for their children.

Saturday 11th

During this long school holiday, pray for Josephine and Joseph, the headteachers in  our two primary schools, that this holiday will be a time of rest and refreshment for them.

Sunday 12th

Pray for them as they begin to plan for the new school year, that God will guide their decision making.

Monday 13th

Many teachers are having to upgrade their qualifications to degree level as this is a new stipulation brought in by the Ugandan government. Pray for those teachers attending courses during this holiday, which will count towards this.

Tuesday 14th

Pray that the new Nursery facility at St Matia Mulmba will be attractive to prospective parents and will bring new children into the school.

Wednesday 15th

Pray that all teachers will return to school at the beginning of the new term and that the headteachers will not have to find well qualified staff at short notice.

Thursday 16th

Pray that the children who sat public exams in 2024 will listen to the advice given to them about the schools and courses they should join going forward.

Friday 17th

Give thanks for all donors who give specifically to project work.

Saturday 18th

This weekend is the first church appeal of the new year in Harrow. Please pray for a positive response from the congregations as Judi speaks.

Sunday 19th

Pray for the EVC staff, that they will have the stamina and capacity necessary for the many tasks they carry out.

Monday 20th

Continue to pray for the Microfinance groups, that parents will continue to see the importance of saving for their childrens school needs and will see the benefits of doing so.

Tuesday 21st

Pray for the support staff in the schools - school nurses, matrons, administrative staff, cooks and night watchmen.

Wednesday 22nd

Pray for a positive attitude towards learning for all our EVC children.

Thursday 23rd

Give thanks for all our child sponsors, for their care and concern for the children they support and their faithfulness in giving.

Friday 24th

Give thanks for David working on improving the new database. Pray that all who use this will quickly become conversant with it and see its benefits.

Saturday 25th

This weekend Judi and Ted are giving a church appeal in Croydon. Pray for safety as they travel and a good response from parishioners.

Sunday 26th

Continue to pray that new people will be willing to sponsor children in education.

Monday 27th

Give thanks for Father Boniface and Father Michael, for the support they give to Gonzaga, Prossy and Janet. Pray for them as they carry much responsibility, Father Boniface in his parish and Father Michael within the diocesan schools.

Tuesday 28th

Pray that all teaching staff will be well prepared for the new term and be able to present lessons in a creative and interesting way.

Wednesday29th

As the new school year will soon begin, pray that all children will return to school for the beginning of term.

Thursday 30th

Next month, Judi is speaking about EVC at Cafe Church in the Methodist church in her village. Pray for her as she prepares for this.

Friday 31st

Pray for those children beginning new schools this year, that they will quickly adjust to the new situation and make good friends.
