EVC Uganda Prayer Requests May 2025

Thursday 1st

Give thanks that almost all the work on the new new Nursery building is finished. Pray for Prossy as she oversees the remaining work.

Friday 2nd

Schools in Uganda close today for holidays. Pray for safety for the children travelling home today.

Saturday 3rd

Today the EVC Board will meet. Pray for a clear connection to Uganda, good discussions and, that God will guide in any decision making.

Sunday 4th

There are still some children who completed Senior 4 last year who need to decide on the course they will follow now. Pray for good decision making and that they will enjoy this new phase of education.

Monday 5th

Some of our children are studying nursing. Pray that they will learn well and have a caring heart for those patients in their care.

Tuesday 6th

Continue to pray for our university students Henry and Roger, that they will continue to achieve well and benefit greatly from being in this student environment.

Wednesday 7th

As children are at home from school for the holidays, pray that they will see the ways they can be of help to their parents and guardians during this time.

Thursday 8th

Continue to pray for the SACCO groups set up for the parents to save money for their childrens school needs. Pray that each one will save what they can and that they will have the necessary funds to buy supplies for the new term.

Friday 9th

Judi, Ted and Roger will be visiting Uganda in July. Pray for Gonzaga and her staff team as they plan and organise the programme for this time.

Saturday 10th

At present Chris is travelling a great deal in the UK. Pray for safety for him on the roads and that God will give him the stamina he needs for all he has to do.

Sunday 11th

Give thanks for the new volunteers who are beginning to take on new roles within EVC and for Gordon and Chris as they currently coordinate what they are doing.

Monday 12th

Pray for Jola and Isobel taking over the work involved on the Gift Register and for Sonja dealing with letters to children.

Tuesday 13th

Mary is going to be organising a photo library for the charity. Pray for her as she works on this as having this database of photos will be a great resource for EVC.

Wednesday 14th

All teachers in Uganda now have to work towards having a degree. Many of the teachers are taking courses during school holidays to upgrade their qualifications. Pray for them during this holiday.

Thursday 15th

Give thanks that Joseph, headteacher at St Matia Mulumba, recently completed his degree and celebrated his graduation.

Friday 16th

St Matia Mulumba Primary School has begun to grow coffee with the aim of selling the beans harvested to gain an income for the school. Pray that the bushes will continue to grow well and that the necessary fertiliser, tools and labour will be available.

Saturday 17th

Pray for our new volunteers that they will take opportunities to join meetings on Zoom and grow in their understanding of the work of EVC.

Sunday 18th

Pray for Mirielle as she takes over administering Gift Aid from Chris. Give thanks for her willingness to take on this big task and pray she will quickly master what the task involves.

Monday 19th

Pray for Gods guidance for the headteachers of our primary schools, as they plan for the new term in school.

Tuesday 20th

Pray for any new children joining the EVC programme in the new term. Pray they will settle quickly in their new schools and make good friendships.

Wednesday 21st

Our staff team in Uganda continue to have big workloads. Pray that they will plan and use their time wisely and that they will be a support to one another in the tasks which need to be done.

Thursday 22nd

Pray for Jovier who has joined the staff in Uganda to work on the EVC childrens accounts. Pray she will quickly understand her new role and pray for Gonzaga as she mentors her.

Friday 23rd

Give thanks for David and all the help he gives in supporting IT for the charity. Pray for skill for him as he works on the new database.

Saturday 24th

As new building work is under discussion, pray for Prossy and Gordon as they gather quotations for the work.

Sunday 25th

Continue to pray for Father Boniface and Father Michael as they support the staff team in Uganda.

Monday 26th

Some of the students who completed education last year are still job hunting. Pray that they may find the right position where they can use the skills they have learned and develop these skills further.

Tuesday 27th

Pray for the staff at St Matia Mulumba Primary School as they make plans for the opening of the new Nursery building.

Wednesday 28th

Pray that all teachers will prepare well for the lessons they teach and that the children they are responsible for will understand topics taught and enjoy lessons.

Thursday 29th

Give thanks for all the opportunities our children have to take part in music, dance, drama, debating and sport. Pray that each child will find ways to participate and learn new skills.

Friday 30th

As wars are taking place in the Sudan and the Congo, pray that these will not spread and destabilise the situation in Uganda.

Saturday 31st

This weekend Gordon and Phil are travelling to speak in a church in Rugby. Pray for safe travel, for Phil as she speaks and for a positive response from parishioners.
