Sunday 1st

The summer term began on 26th May. Pray that the parents of the children will have the necessary finances to provide their children’s school needs this term.

Monday 2nd

Pray that any children not yet back to school will return quickly.

Tuesday 3rd

This month is Education Week in the Diocese of Masaka. Pray that the schools will prepare well for this and have all the resources they need for taking part.

Wednesday 4th

Pray that the children from St Matia Mulumba and St Kizito will achieve well as they take part in the competitions.,

Thursday 5th

The new Nursery department at St Matia Mulumba will be opened officially during July when Roger, Judi and Ted are visiting the projects. Pray for the Nursery teachers as they work with the children in preparation for this.

Friday 6th

The St Matia Mulumba Board of Governors has responsibility for organising the opening of the Nursery. Pray for wholehearted commitment from each member of the Board and for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as they make plans.

Saturday 7th

This weekend Judi and Ted are visiting St Mary and St john’s RC church in Wolverhampton to speak about EVC Uganda. Pray for this time, that God would touch hearts and people will give generously.

Sunday 8th

Pray that we will continue to see people willing to sponsor new children in education.

Monday 9th

Many resources are needed for the opening of the Nursery. There will be a special Mass, plus entertainment, speeches and, of course, food. Pray that a well balanced programme will be put together.

Tuesday 10th

Pray for the families of the those children who are day pupils, that they will be able to raise the money needed for their children’s school fees this term.

Wednesday 11th

Prossy, Project Manager, is overseeing the final work on the Nursery building - fencing and drainage of the compound. Pray that this work will go well and that the workmen will continue to work to a high standard.

Thursday 12th

Two members of the EVC Board are facing ill health among family members. This is involving much travelling for them. Pray for stamina in these difficult times and that their experience will be that, ‘ God is their refuge and strength. An ever-present help in time of trouble’. Psalm 46:1

Friday 13th

Pray for all the teaching staff in the schools that they will be diligent in their preparation of lessons and creative in the way they present subject matter to the children.

Saturday 14th

Today and tomorrow Ted and Judi are speaking in Burgess Hill, Sussex. There are eight services during the weekend. Pray that they will be able to cover all of these and be able to travel easily between the different churches.

Sunday 15th

Pray for a positive response from parishioners and for more people to take out child sponsorship.

Monday 16th

Continue to pray that all parents will see the importance of education for their children and will encourage them to give of their best in school.

Tuesday 17th

There are many tasks for EVC to fulfil. Pray for energy and the ability to plan well for all the tasks they need to undertake.

Wednesday 18th

Pray that all the children will value the opportunity they have to go to school and will concentrate well in class and achieve their full potential.

Thursday 19th

Give thanks for new volunteers, Sonja, Mary, Isobel and Jola who are taking over organising a photo library and administering the Gift Register and mailbox for letters to children. Pray also for Gordon as he coordinates these areas with them.

Friday 20th

St Matia Mulumba school now has some land on which they are growing coffee bushes. Pray that the plants will do well and that there will be sufficient rain to keep them well watered.

Saturday 21st

Pray that the headteacher and the staff at St Matia Mulumba will have further ideas of ways they can gain income for the school.

Sunday 22nd

Joseph and Josephine, headteachers in the primary schools, have a big workload. Pray that they will rely on God and will be guided by his Holy Spirit in all their planning for and running of the schools.

Monday 23rd

Next month, Roger, Ted and Judi are flying to Uganda to visit the projects. Pray for Gonzaga as she oversees the planning of the programme for this visit.

Tuesday 24th

Give thanks for Father Joseph and the other priests in Khansi, for their willingness to accommodate the visitors. Pray for good relationships during the time of the visit.

Wednesday 25th

Give thanks for Chris, our Treasurer, and pray for him as he carries a large work load.

Thursday 26th

There is a need for a new member of staff in Uganda. Pray that the right person will be found to administer the children’s accounts and that she/he will fit well in the staff team.

Friday 27th

Pray that God will keep the EVC staff safe as they travel on poor roads and use motor cycle taxis.

Saturday 28th

This weekend Gordon and Phil are travelling to Louth in Lincolnshire to speak about EVC Uganda. Pray for safety travelling and for Phil as she speaks.

Sunday 29th

Give thanks for David, one of our volunteers, who gives a great deal of support on IT issues and has done much to make the new data base user friendly.

Monday 30th

We have a wonderful group of sponsors. Give thanks for each one, for their faithful support for the children and for our work.
