Tuesday 1st |
The staff in Uganda are busy preparing for the governance visit from the UK to the projects. Pray particularly for Gonzaga as she oversees all the arrangements and that all the activities and meetings will go well and be successful. |
Wednesday 2nd |
The staff in Uganda are still looking for a new member of staff to administer children’s accounts. Pray that someone, competent to do the job and committed to the work, will soon be found. |
Thursday 3rd |
Give thanks for the priests at the parish in Kyansi, where Father Boniface used to be, who are allowing the UK visitors to stay with them. Pray for good relationships and good fellowship and a positive attitude from all the church community. |
Friday 4th |
Pray for guidance for the teaching staff and the EVC staff as they prepare and organise the opening of the new Nursery at St Matia Mulumba. |
Saturday 5th |
This weekend Judi and Ted will be speaking at St Sebastian and St Pancras, Kingsbury Green, London. Pray that many will give generously to support the work of EVC. |
Sunday 6th |
Continue to pray that there will be new people willing to sponsor children in school. |
Monday 7th |
As teaching staff work with the children in preparation for the entertainment at the Nursery opening, pray the children will understand clearly what they need to do and that they will perform to a high standard. |
Tuesday 8th |
Janet is busy monitoring the children as they write letters to their sponsors and also overseeing the SACCO groups. Pray for guidance in these tasks and that she will organise her time well. |
Wednesday 9th |
Continue to pray that teachers will prepare lessons well and find interesting ways to present teaching material. |
Thursday 10th |
This morning, Roger, Ted and Judi are flying to Uganda to visit the projects. Pray for all the details of the journey, for safety and good health, no delays and that all their luggage will arrive safely with them in Entebbe. |
Friday 11th |
Pray for a safe car journey from Entebbe to Kyansi today and for Father Boniface as he drives everyone on roads which are dangerous. |
Saturday 12th |
Pray that Jesus will continue to be at the centre of EVC’s work and that He will guide and direct the way forward. |
Sunday 13th |
Pray that our sponsored children will value the opportunity they have to be in school and will develop and maintain a positive attitude to studying. |
Monday 14th |
Tomorrow there is a meeting for all the parents of EVC children in Uganda. Pray that they will see this as important and that everyone will make the effort to attend. |
Tuesday 15th |
At the meeting today, pray that Ted, Judi and Gonzaga will be able to communicate fully to the parents just what EVC is able to do for their children, and that they will understand that there are financial constraints which mean everything they may like for their children may not necessarily be possible.. |
Wednesday 16th |
During the visit to the projects Ted will be giving a series of workshops to headteachers, school governors, members of the EVC Committee, priests and EVC staff. Pray that many will make the effort to attend and that the workshops will be helpful to them as they plan for the future. |
Thursday 17th |
Tomorrow the new Nursery at St Matia Mulumba will be opened. There will be many outside visitors. Pray there will be some who will want to have a part in promoting the work of the school and of EVC within their Ugandan communities. |
Friday 18th |
Today the official opening of the new Nursery at St Matia Mulumba will take place. Pray that this will be a wonderful time of celebration and thanks and, that those attending will give generously to the proposed new building project, a much needed kitchen and dining room. |
Saturday 19th |
Today, Gordon and Phil are travelling to Portishead in Somerset to speak. Pray for safety as they travel this long distance and for a positive response from parishioners. |
Sunday 20th |
Today Roger begins the journey home to the UK, first by car to Entebbe and then overnight by air to London. Pray for all the details of this trip. |
Monday 21st |
Give thanks for all the work Prossy does in overseeing the project work in Uganda. Pray for her as she begins to organise the building of the new kitchen and the foundations of the dining room. |
Tuesday 22nd |
Some students who completed education last year are still job hunting. Pray for success in finding a position just right for them, where they will be good members of staff. |
Wednesday 23rd |
Give thanks for Joseph, headteacher at St Matia Mulumba, for his leadership of the school and his willingness to look for ways to become more self sufficient. |
Thursday 24th |
Pray that new people will be found to join the EVC Committee in Uganda, ones who will be motivated by the work of EVC and who will be willing to give their time and good direction and support to the EVC staff. |
Friday 25th |
Pray that the new Nursery will be a great advertisement for the school and that the facilities on offer will motivate parents to choose to educate their children there. |
Saturday 26th |
A few students who completed Senior 6 last year still need to choose a vocational course. Pray they will now make a decision of which course is best for them and also listen to advice given. |
Sunday 27th |
Continue to pray for all the support staff in the schools, matrons, night watchmen and cooks. |
Monday 28th |
Pray for Gordon as he works with Prossy on the details relating to the kitchen and dining room at St Matia Mulumba and that the right contractor will be found for the work. |
Tuesday 29th |
Give thanks for Mirielle who is now administering the Gfit Aid claims for EVC. Pray that she will enjoy this new role. |
Wednesday 30th |
There are still areas of responsibility where volunteer help is needed. Pray that more people with the necessary skills for the jobs, will come forward. |
Thursday 31st |
Ted and Judi begin the journey home to the UK today. Pray for safety on the road and in the air and a good flight connection in Doha. |
