Friday 1st

Give thanks for the successful celebrations at the opening of the Nursery at St Matia Mulumba. Primary School.

Saturday 2nd

Unfortunately, Roger, who came to open the Nursery, slipped and fell and broke his femur just before he was due to leave.. He has been operated on in Kampala and is now receiving rehabilitation in St Augustines House in Kampala. Please pray for him during this time and particularly, that he will have a safe return to the UK and make a full recovery from this accident.

Sunday 3rd

Give thanks for all that Joseph, headteacher at St Matia Mulumba, has achieved in the short time he has been at the school.

Monday 4th

The children will soon be sitting end of term exams. Pray for them as they revise and that each one will perform to the best of their ability.

Tuesday 5th

Shortage of water is often a problem in the schools. Pray that solutions will be found which will enable sufficient supplies of water, year round, for the children.

Wednesday 6th

Pray for Gordon as he submits a bid to Water Harvest in the UK, for funding for water tanks in the new Nursery, that this bid will be successful.

Thursday 7th

Pray that headteachers and staff in the primary schools will have creative ideas on how to fundraise for the needs of the schools and that God will bless their efforts.

Friday 8th

Give thanks that the majority of the funding for the kitchen and dining room at St Matia Mulumba are now available and pray for the school as they seek to raise the shortfall of £7,000.

Saturday 9th

Today Ted and Judi are travelling to Hornchurch for a return appeal at St Alban RC Church. Pray for Judi as she speaks, for a positive response and that more people will be willing to sponsor a child in education.

Sunday 10th

Pray for Gordon and Prossy as they work on the plans for the kitchen and dining room.

Monday 11th

Immaculate is a new member of EVC staff in Uganda. Pray she will settle quickly into her job and begin to feel a part of the team.

Tuesday 12th

Pray for safety for our staff as they travel on motor cycle taxis on dangerous dirt roads with many pot holes.

Wednesday 13th

There is a shortage of teachers in Uganda and many leave schools for better pay. Pray for staff stability in our primary schools and that the headteachers will be able to build staff teams committed to the schools.

Thursday 14th

Some children who completed Senior 4 last year have still not decided on a course of study. Pray that this will quickly be rectified.

Friday 15th

Continue to pray for Father Boniface and Father Michael as they oversee the work in Uganda and offer support to the staff team.

Saturday 16th

Today is the EVC Board Meeting. Pray for this time and for any decisions which need to be made.

Sunday 17th

Pray for Henry and Roger continuing in university studies.

Monday 18th

Pray that the training sessions Ted has been able to give on the visit to Uganda, will prove useful and will be acted on.

Tuesday 19th

We are thankful for our staff team in Uganda. Pray that they will work well together and take initiative to help one another when the need arises.

Wednesday 20th

This next term, Senior 4 students will be sitting public exams. Pray that they will already be thinking about the vocational courses they want to begin taking next year.

Thursday 21st

Pray for all the support staff in the schools, matrons, security guards, nurses, cooks and administrative staff, that they will feel very much part of the school staff.

Friday 22nd

Give thanks for the funding raised by the local community at the opening of the new Nursery and for the way they are beginning to value the education offered by the school.

Saturday 23rd

Some students who completed education at the end of 2024 are still job hunting. Pray that each one will find a job which enables them to use the skills they have gained.

Sunday 24th

Pray for Gonzaga as she heads up the staff team in Uganda.

Monday 25th

Give thanks for all our sponsors and for their faithfulness in supporting our children in school.

Tuesday 26th

The children are now on school holidays for three weeks. Pray for them as they spend time at home with their families.

Wednesday 27th

St Matia Mulumba has need of a school bus in order to transport children safely. Pray those in school will have creative ideas of how to raise funding for this.

Thursday 28th

Continue to pray for the EVC Trustees as they make plans for the future development of the charity.

Friday 29th

Give thanks for our new volunteers and pray that God may provide others who can take on responsibility for some areas where help is still needed.

Saturday 30th

Pray for staff at St Matia Mulumba as they seek to develop a website for the school.

Sunday 31st

The building of the kitchen and dining room at St Matia Mulumba should begin this next month. Pray that the builders will work to schedule.
