EVC Uganda September Prayer Requests
September 2025
‘All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things’. Psalm 104 : 27, 28 NIV
Monday 1st |
Please pray for one of our Patrons, Roger Nicklen, recovering at home now from a broken femur sustained on his visit to Uganda. Give thanks that he is recovering well and pray that he will continue to make good progress and be restored to full mobility again. |
Tuesday 2nd |
Currently all the EVC children are on holiday. Pray that they will have good times at home with family and friends and be a help to their parents and guardians. |
Wednesday 3rd |
Pray for Immaculate, a new member of the EVC staff. Pray that she will quickly become a part of the EVC team and build good relationships with her colleagues. |
Thursday 4th |
Pray that there will be an atmosphere of supporting one another when the need arises among members of the EVC staff. |
Friday 5th |
Senior 4 children are already preparing for their GCSE exams which will take place in October. Pray for them as they revise for these, that they will remember what they have been taught and be guided by God’s Holy Spirit. |
Saturday 6th |
This weekend Phil and Gordon are speaking in Oxford and Judi and Ted in Sunbury on Thames. Pray for safe journeys and for positive responses from the different congregations. |
Sunday 7th |
Continue to pray that more people will be motivated to sponsor children in education. |
Monday 8th |
Janet is currently training Immaculate in what is involved in administering the SACCO micro finance savings groups and, in the writing and collecting of children’s letters. Pray that Immaculate will have a positive attitude to learn and will be committed to the work. |
Tuesday 9th |
Today David is working with Judi on the new EVC database. Pray that Judi will understand how it works and quickly see how to input and change information. |
Wednesday 10th |
Father Boniface’s father is suffering with ill health at present. Pray for God’s healing hand to be on him at this time. |
Thursday 11th |
Pray that God will enable all the parents to find a way of raising the funds needed for their children’s school needs and, where parents pay some of the fees, that they will have what is needed. |
Friday 12th |
Work will soon begin on the kitchen and dining room building at St Matia Mulumba Primary School. Pray that all those involved in this will experience God’s guidance and that the work will move forward according to schedule. |
Saturday 13th |
This weekend Phil and Gordon will be speaking at St Thomas`s in Fairford, Gloucester. Pray that God will touch hearts and that the congregations will give generously to our work. |
Sunday 14th |
September and October is a very busy time for church appeals. Pray for stamina for everyone involved in these, particularly as they are often travelling long distances.. |
Monday 15th |
The Christmas term begins today. Pray that all the parents will see it is important to bring their children back on time and with all the things they need for school. |
Tuesday 16th |
This term is a particularly important one for all the children as they sit end of year of exams. Promotion to the next year group is dependent on their achieving well in these exams. |
Wednesday 17th |
Pray that all the children will have a positive attitude to being in school and will value the opportunity they are being given. Pray that each one will perform to the best of their ability. |
Thursday 18th |
This term some students will complete vocational training certificates. Pray that they will be able to find jobs relevant to the skills they have gained and, be able to provide for themselves and help their families. |
Friday 19th |
Pray for the teaching staff in the schools, particularly those involved with students sitting public exams this term - end of Primary 7, Senior 4 (GCSE) and Senior 6 (A level). |
Saturday 20th |
Today Judi and Ted are making a return visit to Our Lady and St Catherine’s in Bow, East London. Pray for Judi as she speaks. |
Sunday 21st |
Pray that we will see an increasing number of people sponsoring children in their education. |
Monday 22nd |
Continue to pray for the heads of the primary schools we use, Josephine and Joseph, that they will plan and lead well and be able to motivate and support their staff. |
Tuesday 23rd |
Pray for Gonzaga as she leads the EVC staff , that she will be able to build an EVC team committed to the work and to one another. |
Wednesday 24th |
Give thanks for all the support staff in the schools, the matrons, cooks, admin staff and security guards. Pray that each one will feel very much a part of the school team. |
Thursday 25th |
Pray that the new Nursery building at St Matia Mulumba will attract new children to the school. |
Friday 26th |
Ted has need of some help with admin tasks. Pray that someone will be found locally who can help him with these. |
Saturday 27th |
Pray for safety on the road today as Judi and Ted travel to Loughton in Essex to speak about EVC’s work. Pray for a positive response from parishioners and for Judi as she speaks. |
Sunday 28th |
Give thanks for our new volunteers and for the help they are already giving in various areas of our work. |
Monday 29th |
Pray for David Mitchell as he joins the EVC Board as a new Trustee. |
Tuesday 30th |
Pray for Gordon and Prossy as they oversee the building of the kitchen and dining room. |
