EVC Uganda October Prayer Requests

Wednesday 1st |
Pray for Gonzaga, our Head of Operations, as she recovers from typhoid. Pray that the medication she has will work quickly and that she will soon regain strength. |
Thursday 2nd |
Ted is beginning to put the list of church appeals together for 2026. Pray that many priests will respond positively to our work and be willing to allocate a time to speak in church. |
Friday 3rd |
Pray for our volunteers, Phil, Brid and Roger, all recovering from broken bones, that they will make steady progress and recover well. |
Saturday 4th |
This month some appeals need to be moved to other dates. Pray that the churches concerned will be willing to allocate alternative dates for us to speak. |
Sunday 5th |
Senior 4 children are preparing for their public exams, the equivalent of GCSE, which begin soon. Pray that they will give the necessary time needed for revising. |
Monday 6th |
The new school term began again last month. Pray for any day school children who have not yet returned, that parents will have the resources to pay their fees and provide the school equipment they need. |
Tuesday 7th |
Give thanks for the provision of money to build the kitchen and dining room at St Matia Mulumba. |
Wednesday 8th |
Work on this building has just begun. Pray for the contractor and his workmen that they will build well and according to building regulations. |
Thursday 9th |
Pray for Prossy as she oversees this building work and has responsibility for buying the Materials. Also for the Diocesan Building Inspector as he comes to inspect each stage of the build. |
Friday 10th |
Senior 4 exams begin today. Pray for all our children involved in these exams, that they will remember the things they have learned and be able to answer the questions asked. |
Saturday 11th |
Today Ted and Judi are travelling to Aldershot for a church appeal. Pray for safety on the roads and stamina for what is a busy time. |
Sunday 12th |
Pray that there will be a positive response to hearing about our work and that parishioners will give generously. |
Monday 13th |
Pray that we will see increasing numbers of people willing to sponsor children in education. |
Tuesday 14th |
Pray for all teaching staff, that they will be enthusiastic about the the subjects they teach and creative in the way they present material to the children. |
Wednesday 15th |
Pray for our university students, Henry and Roger, that they will continue to study well and have good understanding of the material they are taught. |
Thursday 16th |
Pray for our Senior 4 children who will move on to vocational training in 2026, that they will be realistic about their options and give thought to the best course for them going forward. |
Friday 17th |
Pray for our staff team, Gonzaga, Prossy, Immaculate and Jannat, that they will work well together and support one another in the tasks needing to be done. |
Saturday 18th |
Each staff member has a busy schedule. Pray for stamina and an ability to plan their tasks well. |
Sunday 19th |
Continue to pray for Father Boniface and Father Michael as they oversee the work in Uganda and give thanks for all the support they give to the staff team. |
Monday 20th |
Pray for the headteachers in our two primary schools, Josephine and Joseph, that they will give good direction to their staff and have creative ideas of how to make the schools more self sufficient. |
Tuesday 21st |
Give thanks for all our sponsors, for their faithful support and concern for the children they help. |
Wednesday 22nd |
Recently some more primary schools have been raising money for EVC. Pray that as we contact other schools there will be more who will be willing to raise funds for us. |
Thursday 23rd |
Pray that the new Nursery department at St Matia Mulumba will be used to attract more pupils to the school. |
Friday 24th |
This weekend Ted and Judi are travelling to Burnley to speak at The Parish of the Good Samaritan. Pray for safety on the journeys. |
Saturday 25th |
Pray that many in Burnley will be willing to give towards our work and that some will be willing to sponsor a child in school. |
Sunday 26th |
Pray for all support staff in the schools, matrons, cooks, administrative staff and those working in security. |
Monday 27th |
Pray for Gordon as he helps Prossy with all the plans for the building of the kitchen and dining room. |
Tuesday 28th |
Even with a qualification, it’s sometimes not easy to find a job in Uganda. Pray for any of our students who completed education last year who are still looking for a place to work, that God will provide the right place soon. |
Wednesday 29th |
Pray for Ted as he prepares for the the EVC AGM and Board Meeting to be held in early November. |
Thursday 30th |
Give thanks for all the work David has carried out on the new database. Pray that soon it will be fully ‘up and running’ for everyone who needs to use it. |
Friday 31st |
Next month our Primary 7 children will sit the end of primary school exams. Pray for them as they revise for these. |
