November 2025

‘Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced ‘. Psalm 105 : 5 NIV

Saturday 1st

Today is the EVC AGM and Board Meeting. Pray for Ted as he chairs these meetings and ask, that each Trustee will be led by the Holy Spirit in the discussions and any decision making.

Sunday 2nd

This weekend Phil and Gordon are visiting Our Lady and St Vincent RC Church in Harrow to speak about EVC. Please pray for this time, that people will give generously and more sponsors for children in need of an education will be found.

Monday 3rd

Primary 7 leaving exams take place today and tomorrow. Please pray for all our Primary 7 children sitting these exams, that they will remember what they have been taught and that God will take away any fear they feel about these tests.

Tuesday 4th

Many parents have been planting crops, but there has not been any rain. Please pray that rains will come and that there will be the right weather to ensure the crops grow well.

Wednesday 5th

Pray each family will have enough food for their families and some left over to sell so that they have money for their children’s needs in school.

Thursday 6th

Some parents of day school pupils have failed to pay all the school fees for Term 3. Pray they may find ways of raising the money needed so that their children can sit end of year exams. Without this, they may not be able to move up to the next year group.

Friday 7th

Ted is continuing to contact churches to ask for the opportunity to have a church appeal during 2026. Give thanks for the ones who have already agreed to allow this and pray that God will lead him to priests who will respond positively.

Saturday 8th

Pray for all teachers in the schools, that they will give themselves wholeheartedly in their jobs and aim for a standard of excellence with their pupils.

Sunday 9th

As children revise for end of year exams, pray that they will be able to remember the things they have been taught and, where something is not clear, that they will get the help they need from their teachers.

Monday 10th

Janet, who has been working for EVC during the last three and a half years, will leave her job at the end of December. Please pray that in the remaining weeks she is with us, she will work hard and really ensure that she has taught Immaculate what is involved in the different tasks she is responsible for.

Tuesday 11th

Pray that Janet will find a job which is perfect for her and fits the qualifications she has.

Wednesday 12th

Some parents and guardians of the children are suffering with ill health. Pray they may get the right treatment and that God’s healing hand will be seen in each person affected.

Thursday 13th

November is the month when those who have died are remembered in the church. Sponsors, children, parents and guardians, contractors at the schools and supporters of Father Boniface’s work, are some who have died in recent years. Remember them and pray for them.

Friday 14th

Give thanks that work has begun on the kitchen and dining room at St Matia Mulumba and pray that the work will progress well and not be hampered by bad weather.

Saturday 15th

Pray for Prossy as she oversees this building work and is responsible for the purchase of materials.

Sunday 16th

Thank God for Gordon’s expertise regarding building work and for all the time he gives to monitoring project work in Uganda.

Monday 17th

As work is continuing on the new EVC database, pray that Chris and Judi will be able to complete the inputting of data so that it becomes a useful tool for those who need to access it.

Tuesday 18th

Give thanks that the coffee plants at St Matia Mulumba are growing well and pray that there will be no adverse conditions which will affect the harvest they hope to have from them next year.

Wednesday 19th

Thirty seven sponsored children sat Senior 4 (GCSE) exams last month. They will be at home for the next 3-4 months until the results of the exams are published. Pray that they will use this time at home well and be a support to their parents and guardians.

Thursday 20th

Pray also that they will think carefully about the courses they want to pursue after Senior 4. Pray that they will listen to the advice given and be realistic about what is possible.

Friday 21st

Pray for the EVC staff, Gonzaga, Prossy, Immaculate and Janet, that they will work well together and be ready to support one another when the need arises.

Monday 24th

In early December schools will close for the long Christmas holiday. Pray that all staff will have time to relax and be refreshed.

Tuesday 25th

Continue to pray for Phil, Roger and Brid, recovering from broken bones. Pray that they will experience God’s healing hand and that they will be restored to full mobility.

Wednesday 26th

Give thanks for all our volunteers, for their willingness to help and for all the time they give to the tasks they are responsible for.

Thursday 27th

Give thanks for all EVC sponsors, for their care of the children they support and their faithfulness in giving.

Friday 28th

There is still a need for more skilled volunteers to help with EVC’s work. Pray that the right people will come forward who will be able to help with the tasks which need to be undertaken.

Saturday 29th

Today Gordon and Phil are travelling to Southall in Middx to give an appeal on behalf of EVC. Pray for them as they speak, that God will motivate the congregations to give generously.

How can you help?

It costs £300 to sponsor a child ( £25 monthly standing order ) This provides a child with an education, accommodation, clothing and food and pays teaching and non teaching staff. You can also donate securely through KindLink.
