Sunday 1st |
The results of the Primary 7 leaving exams were due out yesterday. Pray that all parents and children will choose schools which can be afforded and also listen to any guidance and advice given by EVC staff. |

Monday 2nd |
The first term of the new school year begins either today or on 10th February. Pray that parents will ensure that their children return to school, in good health and with the necessary requirements for this new term. |
|
Tuesday 3rd |
Many church appeals are already in the diary for this year. Pray for Ted as he seeks to gain opening for eight more. |
|
Wednesday 4th |
Pray for all the teaching staff as this new school year begins, that they will be fully committed and do their jobs well and with creativity. |
|
Thursday 5th |
Pray for those parents who pay the fees for their children themselves, that they will pay on time so that the school has the funds needed. |
|
Friday 6th |
Things have been unsettled due to the general election which took place in mid January. Pray for a settled situation to resume and that Uganda will have peace. |
|
Saturday 7th |
As building work is taking place on site at St Matia Mulumba, pray that the contractors will work well and that the projected timings for work to be completed will be achieved. |
|
Sunday 8th |
Give thanks for our staff in Uganda, for their dedication and hard work. Pray for a good team spirit among them. |
|
Monday 9th |
A new member of staff to replace Janet is still being sought. Pray for guidance for each one involved in the interview process, for wisdom in making the right choice and that someone will be found who will fit well within the staff team and do a good job. |
|
Tuesday 10th |
Early this month the results of the Senior 4 exams (GCSE) will be received. Pray that the children involved in these will make wise choices as to the courses they should follow and listen and act on advice given by the EVC staff. |
|
Wednesday 11th |
Give thanks for our sponsors, for their faithfulness in supporting the children and their generosity towards them. |
|
Thursday 12th |
Pray for Prossy as she oversees the building work on site at St Matia Mulumba and as she sources the building materials, that she will find them at acceptable prices. |
|
Friday 13th |
Pray for all children who are beginning a new school this term, that they will quickly settle and make new friends. |
|
Saturday 14th |
This weekend Ted and Judi are travelling to Hornchurch to give an appeal on behalf of EVC. Pray for safety travelling and for a positive and generous response from the congregations. |
|
Sunday 15th |
Pray that this year we will see many more children gain sponsorship and have the opportunity to go to school. |
|
Monday 16th |
This term the children at Laleham School in Purley,Surrey are fund raising for EVC. Pray they will have good ideas of how to raise funds and that each child will take part enthusiastically. |
|
Tuesday 17th |
Several of the EVC children completed education at the end of last year and are now job hunting. Pray that each one will be successful and will find a position well suited to their skills and abilities. |
|
Wednesday 18th |
Pray for all the headteachers in the schools our children attend, that they will plan well for this academic year and give good direction to their staff. |
|
Thursday 19th |
Pray for the support staff in the schools, the matrons, admin staff, security and cooks, that they will feel very much part of the life of the schools they work in. |
|
Friday 20th |
Tomorrow is the EVC Board Meeting. Pray for this time, that God will lead the discussions and guide in any decision making needed. |
|
Saturday 21st |
Today Gordon and Phil are travelling to Hinksey, near Oxford and Judi and Ted to Thanet,Kent to give church appeals. Pray for these times, that parishioners will be generous. |
|
Sunday 22nd |
Pray that new sponsors will be found to support children in school. |
|
Monday 23rd |
Pray for Gonzaga as she leads the EVC staff team. |
|
Tuesday 24th |
The work load for the staff in Uganda is big. Pray that they will pace themselves and use their time wisely. |
|
Wednesday 25th |
Pray that each child will give of their best in school this year, learn well and enjoy the opportunities they are given. |
|
Thursday 26th |
Continue to pray for Roger and Brid, two EVC volunteers, recovering from broken bones, that they will soon be restored to full mobility. |
|
Friday 27th |
Give thanks for the support of all the EVC volunteers, for their dedication to the tasks they carry out and their willingness to serve in this way. |
|
Saturday 28th |
Continue to give thanks for al the support Father Boniface and Father Michael give to the staff team and pray for them as they carry out their responsibilities within the diocese. |
