EVC Uganda Prayer Requests March 26

March 2026

‘Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour. And my hope is in you all day long’. Psalm 25 : 4 & 5 NIV

Sunday 1st

The church appeal in Thanet was moved to this weekend. Please pray for Judi as she speaks and for a positive and generous response from parishioners.

Monday 2nd

Pray that more children will gain sponsors for their education.

Tuesday 3rd

The children who sat Senior 4 exams at the end of last year, now have their results. Give thanks for the very good results they achieved.

Wednesday 4th

Pray for them that they will make right choices about the course they will follow in technical school and pray they will listen to and act on the advice they are given.

Thursday 5th

Continue to thank God for our faithful child sponsors, who give so generously to the children so they can experience consistent education.

Friday 6th

Those who in P7 who sat Primary leaving exams also achieved good results and most are now in new schools. Pray that they will settle well and make new friends.

Saturday 7th

This weekend, Phil and Gordon will be joining the congregation at St Mary of the Crays, Crayford. Pray for them as they speak and ask that God will bless this time.

Sunday 8th

At the beginning of a new term it has often been difficult to get all children back into school. Give thanks for the way parents now have a much better understanding of the need for this and are bringing them back with the necessary scholastic materials.

Monday 9th

Pray for the staff in the primary schools who are now back in school. Pray they will prepare well for each lesson and be creative in their approach.

Tuesday 10th

Both primary schools lost some teachers to other institutions. Pray for Joseph and Josephine, the headteachers, that they will quickly find good replacements, who will accept the salaries the schools are able to offer.

Wednesday 11th

Teachers in Uganda, over time, are now expected to upgrade their qualifications to degree level. With this comes an added financial burden on the schools, who then have to pay higher salaries. Pray that they will find ways to raise the extra money needed.

Thursday 12th

Pray for any sponsors experiencing ill health, for those who have lost loved ones in recent months and those recovering from broken bones.

Friday 13th

There are tax issues which need to be sorted in Uganda. Pray for Father Boniface, Father Michael and Gonzaga as they work on this and ask that God will bring a good outcome and guide throughout the process.

Saturday 14th

Today, Ted and Judi are travelling to Bognor Regis to speak about EVC. Pray for safety on the roads and that people will be willing to give to the work of EVC and support children in education.

Sunday 15th

In December Janet left EVC and a new member of staff is now being sought to replace her. Pray for the interviews taking place for this and that the right person will be found, who will fit in well with the other staff and be committed and enthusiastic about the work.

Monday 16th

As EVC grows, Trustees have very full in trays. Pray for an ability to cope with the work and that they will manage their time well.

Tuesday 17th

Pray that other volunteers will be found who can take on some of the practical tasks and give thanks for those already volunteering their time.

Wednesday 18th

The EVC staff in Uganda have a big work load. Pray for them to organise their time well, to be supportive of one another and that they will rely on God for their abilities and strength.

Thursday 19th

Today the children at Laleham Lea School in Purley are fundraising for Nursery equipment at St Matia Mulumba.. Pray for enthusiasm from each child and that a good response will be achieved by them.

Friday 20th

Give thanks for the many church appeals Ted has secured for this year and pray that he will be successful in gaining another three.

Saturday 21st

This weekend there are two church appeals, one in Southampton and one in Hinksey, Oxford. Pray that both churches will give generously to the work of EVC.

Sunday 22nd

Continue to pray that more sponsors will be found to support children to go to school.

Monday 23rd

Prossy is continuing to oversee the building work on the new kitchen and dining room at St Matia Mulumba. Give thanks for the progress made so far and ask that work will be done to a high standard.

Tuesday 24th

The coffee bushes are growing well at St Matia Mulumba. Pray for ideas of how to gain support for this initiative in the UK.

Wednesday 25th

Pray for those students who completed education at the end of last year, that they will find jobs which they will enjoy and where they can use the skills they have learned.

Thursday 26th

Give thanks for the way parents are saving within the SACCO groups and pray for Immaculate as she works will them on this. Pray she will build good relationships and will be an encouragement to them.

Friday 27th

Pray for all the support staff in the schools, security guards, cooks, matrons, bursars and Admin assistants, that they will feel very much a part of the school staff.

Saturday 28th

Pray that all the EVC children will be positive about being in school and will listen and concentrate well in class.

Sunday 29th

Many children completed primary education at the end of last year and this means that the schools are looking to fill the places they left. Pray that both primary schools will attract new students to fill these places.

Monday 30th

All the EVC staff work hard and need to also plan to take holiday so that they are refreshed and ready for challenges their jobs bring. Pray that these will be planned for this year and that staff will benefit from the time away.

Tuesday 31st

The staff are in need of a vehicle they can use when travelling around, as motor cycle taxis are dangerous. Pray that Ted will be successful in finding a way to provide this.
