Wednesday 1st

Father Bonny Kalyesuubula, the Diocesan Building Inspector, lost his life in a car accident in mid June. Pray for him and for his family, as they mourn his loss.

Thursday 2nd

Give thanks for all the support he gave to EVC when inspecting the building work at St Matia Mulumba.

Friday 3rd

Pray for Father Boniface who has been unwell, that the treatment he is receiving will be successful and that he will soon feel better.

Saturday 4th

Today Judi is speaking at St Peter’s and Our Lady’s churches in Leamington Spa. Pray for safety when travelling and for Judi as she speaks.

Sunday 5th

Pray that the congregations will give generously to our work and that there will be people willing to sponsor new children in education.

Monday 6th

As the new school term has begun, pray for all school staff to fulfil their responsibilities and work towards each child achieving their potential.

Tuesday 7th

Pray that each child will enjoy being in school and will concentrate on their studies and seek to give of their best in every area.

Wednesday 8th

Some children are new in school this term. Pray that they will settle well and make strong friendships.

Thursday 9th

Mock examinations are taking place in July for those who will sit Primary 7 and Senior 4 leaving exams later in the year. Pray the children will revise well for these and that God will give them understanding of the questions asked and an ability to answer questions well.

Friday 10th

Pray that when parents ask for sponsorship and what is involved in this is explained to them, they will fully understand what is said and commit wholeheartedly to bringing their children to school when a sponsor is found.

Saturday 11th

This weekend Ted and Judi are speaking at St George’s in Sudbury, Wembley. Pray for safety when travelling and for stamina over the weekend as there are five masses.

Sunday 12th

Pray for a positive response from the congregations, that they will give generously and that we will see new people beginning to sponsor children in education.

Monday 13th

Continue to pray for all parents involved in saving through the SACCO groups, that they will be committed to saving as much as they can. Pray for Immaculate as she oversees these groups.

Tuesday 14th

Recently some parents have refused to bring children to school when sponsorship has been gained. Pray that God will change their minds and that they will not cause their children to miss the opportunity of education.

Wednesday 15th

The weather in Uganda has been very hot recently and there is much dust in the atmosphere. Sickness has been prevalent in many of the communities. Pray for recovery from these illnesses.

Thursday 16th

Pray for rain as the crops are failing in the gardens due to lack of water and too little food will be harvested by the families as a result.

Friday 17th

There are many road accidents in the Masaka and Kampala areas. Pray for safety for our staff, for Father Boniface and Father Michael, for Bishop Jjumba and all those who drive on difficult roads

Saturday 18th

There is increasing poverty among families due to the current world situation. Pray that God will lead parents and guardians to ways of raising funds to help care for their families.

Sunday 19th

This poverty is resulting in many day pupils, who do not have sponsorship, failing to join school this term or joining school but not paying the fees. Pray that more people will be found in the UK to sponsor needy children.

Monday 20th

As children fail to return, this causes issues for the schools who do not have the expected funding coming into the school. Pray for God to overrule in this and that the schools will find other ways of raising funds.

Tuesday 21st

The EVC Uganda Trustees are planning for the next 10 years. Pray for God’s guidance and that He will provide the necessary funding to execute these plans.

Wednesday 22nd

Pray for Henry and Roger who have completed university studies recently, that God will lead them to the right jobs where they can use the skills learned.

Thursday 23rd

Pray for all our students following vocational studies, that they will enjoy their courses and learn well.

Friday 24th

Give thanks for the faithfulness of our sponsors who give so generously to support the children in school.

Saturday 25th

Pray that both primary schools will find ways to raise funding for the needs the schools have. Give thanks for the coffee initiative at St Matia Mulumba, which is progressing well.

Sunday 26th

Internal work is now being carried out on the new kitchen and dining room at St Matia Mulumba. Pray this will progress well and that bad weather will not hinder materials being brought to the site.

Monday 27th

Continue to give thanks for all our volunteers who give so much time to supporting our work. Pray for more people to join this group.

Tuesday 28th

We are grateful for our staff team in Uganda, Gonzaga, Prossy, Immaculate and Monica. Pray for them, that they will support one another and carry out each of their duties well.

Wednesday 29th

Pray for all support staff in the schools, matrons, admin and security staff and cooks, that they will know they are an important part of the schools they are in and give themselves wholeheartedly to the jobs they have.

Thursday 30th

Pray for the governing bodies of both primary schools, that members will work well together and know God’s guidance as they help direct the schools.

Friday 31st

Pray for Gonzaga as she leads the staff team, for wisdom, strength for the work and a knowledge of God’s leading.
