September 2026

Tuesday1st |
This month Ted is beginning to put together the appeal dates for 2027. Pray that, as he contacts priests, many will be willing to offer the opportunity for us to speak about EVC’s work. |

Wednesday 2nd |
Many in Uganda are experiencing financial difficulties as fuel and food prices rise due to the war in the Middle East. Pray for God to bring peace in this area and for a re-opening of the Strait of Hormuz. |
|
Thursday 3rd |
Pray also for rain. There has been much sunshine in Uganda in the past months and little rain and so many crops have dried up. Pray too for the families of our children who have no harvest as a result and need to provide food for everyone at home. |
|
Friday 4th |
Today Ted is meeting over Zoom with Father Boniface, Father Michael and Gonzaga, to discuss the composition of the EVC Committee in Uganda and also their priorities for the next 10 years. Pray for God’s guidance in this time. |
|
Saturday 5th |
This weekend Phil and Gordon are travelling to speak at St Mary’s RC Church in Loughborough. Please pray for safety on the roads and the energy needed when on church appeals. |
|
Sunday 6th |
Pray that those who show interest in child sponsorship will follow through on their good intentions and that we will see more children given the opportunity of an education. |
|
Monday 7th |
Children are currently on school holidays. Pray for God’s protection for them and, that God will show their parents ways in which they can raise the funds needed for scholastic materials for their children. |
|
Tuesday 8th |
The third term in the school year will begin again next week. Pray that all our EVC children will report back on time. |
|
Wednesday 9th |
Pray that all the teaching staff in the schools will report back for the beginning of term. Pray they will be fully committed in their preparations and will have a love for their jobs and for the children they teach. |
|
Thursday 10th |
As EVC has grown, so has the need for offices and accommodation for the EVC staff, so that they can better deliver the services on the ground. Pray for Gordon, Prossy, Gonzaga and Francis, the contractor, as they oversee the plan and quotation for the build. May God guide in all their decision making. |
|
Friday 11th |
Pray too that the district planners/inspectors will be positive about the work and that no obstacles will be put in the way of starting to build in January 2027. |
|
Saturday 12th |
Judi and Ted are returning to speak at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in Billericay this weekend. Pray for a good and positive time with members of the congregation. |
|
Sunday 13th |
Pray that people will give generously and that new people will be willing to sponsor children in education. |
|
Monday 14th |
In October Primary 7 students, those in Senior 4 and 6 and those in the final stages of a vocational course will be sitting final public exams. Pray that God’s Holy Spirit will be with them. |
|
Tuesday 15th |
Pray for these weeks when they are revising for these exams, that God will enable them to understand and retain what they have been taught. |
|
Wednesday 16th |
Father Boniface has been experiencing some health problems recently. Pray that the doctors in charge of his case will know the right form of treatment for him and that it will be successful. |
|
Thursday 17th |
In the north east of Uganda, the Karamojan tribe is experiencing drought and famine and people are dying. Pray that, as the schools and churches have been asked to raise funds to help them, there may be an outpouring of generosity towards them. |
|
Friday 18th |
Father Boniface has contact with a group of sisters working with this tribe. He would like to bring some of the children to our schools so that they receive an education. Pray that their parents will be willing for this to happen. |
|
Saturday 19th |
Pray that the headteachers of the schools our children attend will administer things well and enable all children to excel. |
|
Sunday 20th |
As God is able to open doors which no man can shut, we pray that He will open doors so that funds towards the building of the offices and accommodation block will be given.. |
|
Monday 21st |
Pray for the EVC staff that they will be refreshed by the holidays they have taken recently and, will have renewed energy and commitment for the tasks they need to carry out. |
|
Tuesday 22nd |
Continue to pray that the building work on the kitchen and dining room will go well and pray for Prossy as she oversees this on the ground. |
|
Wednesday 23rd |
Pray for all those students who have begun vocational courses this year, that they will enjoy what they are doing and be able to use the skills they are being taught well. |
|
Thursday 24th |
Each year now, children are completing their education and moving into the working world. Pray that each one may be able to find a job where they can use the skills learned. |
|
Friday 25th |
This weekend Judi and Ted are speaking at the Church of Our Lady in Saffron Walden. Pray for an ability to speak well and for a good response to the appeal. |
|
Saturday 26th |
Continue to pray that more children will gain sponsorship as a result of this weekend. |
|
Sunday 27th |
Pray specially, that those who complete their education as a result of sponsorship through EVC, will see the importance of maintaining contact with the EVC staff and, develop a willingness to give back to the projects in some way. |
|
Monday 28th |
Pray that these students will see that they have much to offer to the younger children in encouraging them to stay in education and, will be willing to give of their time to speaking to those still in school, about the opportunities open to those with a good education. |
|
Tuesday 29th |
Continue to pray for Immaculate as she oversees the SACCO groups and give thanks that many more parents are wanting to try to save through these groups for their children’s needs. |
|
Wednesday 30th |
Father Boniface and Father Michael give a great deal of support to the EVC staff. Give thanks for them and their vision and commitment to the Ugandan children and to EVC. |
