Thursday 1st |
Give thanks for the faithfulness of sponsors in giving generously to support their sponsored children. |
|
Friday 2nd |
As in many places around the world, Uganda is experiencing rising costs for food and home needs as well as increased taxes. Pray for peace in the troubled areas of the world and for a solution to the conflicts so that costs may begin to fall. |
|
Saturday 3rd |
This weekend Phil and Gordon are speaking at St John Payne in Greenstead, Essex. Pray for safety when travelling and for a good response from the congregations. |
|
Sunday 4th |
This year fewer people have begun sponsoring children. Pray that there will be some members of the congregations who will be willing to give support to a needy child. |
|
Monday 5th |
Ted is working on putting the list of appeals together for 2027. Pray that priests will respond positively to his approach and that he will quickly get the necessary number. |
|
Tuesday 6th |
Many of the parents of day pupils in our schools find difficulty in paying school fees on time. Pray that they will understand the need for their children to be consistently in school and for them to find ways of raising the money needed. |
|
Wednesday 7th |
Give thanks for the EVC staff in Uganda, for their commitment to the jobs they have and their concern of all the children in our care. |
|
Thursday 8th |
As the new term started recently, give thanks that all children and staff were kept safe during the holidays and that most children reported back to school on time. |
|
Friday 9th |
Give thanks that all staff reported back to school and pray for them in this new term, that they will be encouraging and motivating in their dealings with the children. |
|
Saturday 10th |
Today Phil and Gordon are speaking in Felixstowe and Judi and Ted in Leamington Spa. Pray that God will touch hearts and that people will give generously to EVC’s work. |
|
Sunday 11th |
Continue to pray for more people to be willing to sponsor a child in education. |
|
Monday 12th |
Pray for the administrators in the schools, headteachers and those who work in the offices, that they will make wise and good decisions for the benefit of the pupils and teaching staff. |
|
Tuesday 13th |
Uganda has faced a lack of rain over these past months and this has affected the crops which parents have planted. Pray that God will provide rain now so that new crops can be planted and parents will be able to feed their children in the Christmas holiday. |
|
Wednesday 14th |
Children in Primary 7, Senior 4 and Senior 6 will be sitting public examinations this month and next. Pray for them as they revise, that they will be able to recall what they have been taught and perform well. |
|
Thursday 15th |
Pray for each one sitting these exams, that the Holy Spirit will be with them in the exams, enabling them to understand the questions and answer well. |
|
Friday 16th |
Continue to pray for Ted as he works on the list of appeals for 2027, that God will open doors to new churches and that there will be opportunity to return to churches visited previously. |
|
Saturday 17th |
This weekend Judi and Ted are speaking at three different churches in Midhurst in Sussex. Pray for a trouble free journey, for Judi as she speaks and that parishioners will be motivated to give generously. |

Sunday 18th |
Continue to pray that new people will be willing to sponsor a child to go to school. |
|
Monday 19th |
Gonzaga and Father Boniface have both experienced ill health recently. Give thanks that both have experienced improvement and pray that they will be restored to full health and strength again. |
|
Tuesday 20th |
Pray for Immaculate and Monica working on gathering children’s letters and reports. Pray that this will go well and that everything needed will be ready to send to the UK on time. |
|
Wednesday 21st |
Pray that all the EVC staff in Uganda will be self motivated and will also work well together, supporting and cooperating with one another. |
|
Thursday 22nd |
Plans have been made to begin building offices and accommodation for the EVC staff in the New Year. The toilet block needs to be built first, as the workmen will need this when on site. Pray that this work will go well. |
|
Friday 23rd |
Pray for Gonzaga and Prossy as they meet all those involved in this building work and that God will be in all the details. Pray also that a donor may be found who will help with the funding for this. |
|
Saturday 24th |
This weekend Phil and Gordon are travelling to New Addinton to speak and Judi and Ted to Beckenham. Pray that God will touch hearts and that the congregations will be motivated to give generously to our work. |
|
Sunday 25th |
Continue to pray that more new sponsors will be found so that more children can experience an education. |
|
Monday 26th |
Ted is preparing for the Board Meeting on 7th November. Pray that God will give clear guidance as he plans for this time. |
|
Tuesday 27th |
Travelling on dirt roads in Uganda can be dangerous. Pray for the EVC staff, Father Boniface and Father Michael and those travelling to meetings in the schools, that they will be kept safe on their journeys. |
|
Wednesday 28th |
Pray that headteachers and staff, the boards of governors and the EVC committee members, will have creative ideas of how to fund raise for the schools. |
|
Thursday 29th |
Pray for all those in support positions in the schools, matrons, admin staff, security guards and cooks, that they will work conscientiously and be fully committed to the work they are doing. |
|
Friday 30th |
Education makes a life changing difference to the opportunities children have. Pray for more to gain sponsorship so that they can experience a better life. |
|
Saturday 31st |
This weekend, Roger is speaking in Canning Town. As there are four Masses, pray for stamina for Roger and that many will give generously to support our work. |
