EVC Uganda talk to Willington Evergreens

March 2016

Thursday 3rd of March was a day of firsts for EVC Uganda and for our Secretary Judi Fawcett as she spoke to the Evergreens’ (over 55) group in her home village of Willington.

The first opportunity to talk at length (45 minutes) to a group who were new to EVC Uganda’s work and the first opportunity for Judi to give a Keynote (powerpoint presentation)!

Around 25 women and some men gathered in Willington Village Hall and heard about how the work began, what conditions are like in the Masaka diocese, what’s happening now and what the plans are for the future. Afterwards there was the opportunity for questions before finishing with tea and biscuits.

The group gave a generous donation as well as making a collection for the work of the charity. For both these things and for the chance to share about our work we are extremely grateful.

How can you help?

It costs £300 to sponsor a child ( £25 monthly standing order ) This provides a child with an education, accommodation, clothing and food and pays teaching and non teaching staff. You can also donate securely through KindLink.
